Description
The experience of a lifetime awaits you in the hills of southern Spain.
The Introduction to Botanical Skin Care Production retreat will take you through all the steps necessary to create your own botanical balms, creams, shampoos, soaps and other botanical adventures, such as botanical infusions and cocktails. You will hand harvest, dry, process, distill, mill, and prepare oils and salves from scratch. You will have visits to local gardens, work with two different types of stills and hand blend local and organic ingredients to create the cream that is right for you. All classes and workshops will be conducted in English by a native teacher, although you will have plenty of opportunities to practice your Spanish during the week if you wish.

From Seed to Skin
Born and raised in Sacramento California, she has lived off the grid in the Spanish mountains for over 30 years. After living 22 years without running water and 26 without electricity, she has now installed a humble solar electric system in her home, and her hot water comes from the wood stove in the winter and a solar setup in the summer. She built her stone home herself in a small off grid village which is walking distance from the farmhouse you will be using for the retreat. She has been working with medicinal plants since the early 1990s and all the plants she uses are grown at her home, with the exception of those that are wild from the surrounding hillsides. She makes everything from scratch, with only organic ingredients and the plants she grows and harvests. She grows most of her own food and lives in the house she has built.
